Communication

Communication is key to success. But who communicates to who?

Using Less Stuff Committee

  • The committee organise whole staff/ school discussions.
  • They are the ones who receive feedback from staff, pupils, parents and potentially even the wider community.
  • The feedback received should be discussed in the meetings held to give a topic focus for the Month.
  • Your ULS committee should aim to have at least one member from each department who will check with all the staff in the department how they are getting on or any feedback.
  • Sending out an email to ALL staff will reinforce what was discussed at the meeting.

Teachers

  • Staff communicate to the ULS  Committee on any ideas they may have for Using Less.
  • The staff are responsible with communicating to the students on what they are going to be focusing on each Month.
  • They also will have a role to play when speaking to parents (potentially on parents evening).

Pupils

  • Information will be passed on from teachers to the pupils.
  • Certain lessons may be topical to the Using Less Stuff initiative.
  • Pupils should (hopefully) communicate with parents on the recent projects they have been involved in to do with Using Less Stuff.

Parents

  • A Monthly email could be sent to parents to informing them on any changes to the behaviour in the school or the new projects that their children will be learning about and taking part in.
  • Keeping parents in the loop will also encourage them to take on board the new initiative as well.

Other Staff

  • It is vital that other members of staff like cleaners, cooks, maintenance etc are informed of the new changes taking place in the school.
  • The ULS committee is responsible for informing these staff on this.
  • They should be sent an email similar to what the parents receive to inform them.
